How do you do this? Well, of course, donations to support our work are always welcome but we really want you to TRAVEL WITH US TO NICARAGUA.
ViviendasLeón brings student, family, and school groups to Nicaragua to live with Nicaraguan host families and work on a community project for two weeks. During those two weeks, you learn about Nicaragua from its people. Through homestays in the intellectual heart of Nicaragua--León, work on a community project in one of the rural areas outside León, and travel to the beautiful beaches, rainforests, and volcanoes of the country, you become part of the community, not simply a tourist. You also learn first-hand about the complexities of poverty and how it is not just a local problem but a global one. When you join a ViviendasLeón trip, you become part of the solution.
Through the participation and resources you provide when you come to Nicaragua, you are providing direct aid that will impact the standard of living for those in the rural communities.
